Saxophonist Noa Even and the Kent State Wind Ensemble under the baton of Dr. Wendy Matthews give the world premiere of my saxophone concerto For Those Who Fell, composed for the 50th anniversary of the Kent State Shootings. The piece imagines the soloist as a leader of a student protest that culminates in the National Guard shooting into the crowd and killing four students. The final section of the work is an elegy for the fallen.
